  2. Here is a little animation I made after seeing one of the SIRDS (random
  3. dot stereogram) images.  You can do the same thing with smallish images if
  4. you have two images from slightly different viewpoints of the same object.
  5. It occurred to me that it would be easy to make an animated 3D picture.

  7. The animation itself is really simple - just one of those kinetic things
  8. with the balls that knock against each other, and took maybe 5 minutes to
  9. model in Lightwave.  But it is interesting nonetheless just due to the
  10. novelty of viewing an anim in 3D.

  12. If you know how to view the SIRDS pictures, you can view this the same
  13. way.  If not, ask around until you find someone who can explain it.

  15. This animation is designed for 640x400 modes on 14 to 17 inch monitors.
  16. Bigger monitors might make it more difficult to see.  Also, you can
  17. probably play it faster than its supposed to go - just fiddle with the
  18. playback speed until it looks right.
